Alice - there never is detailed times is until you get (buy) the programme on site. Only the stage start and finish times in the About / Areas section of the website

Twitterers at the Cambridge Folk Festival might like to note that there seems to be a hashtag for the event which has bubbled its way to the surface, and it's:

#cff09

...so if you're tweeting from the festival, do add that to the end, so others can read your thoughts.

Do pass this news on to your friends who'll be there!

Perhaps the owner of this blog might put up a separate post with the Twitter hashtag?

Thanks for the heads up on twitter, I was going to have a go at remote tweeting this year.
Liz and Alice, You'll love it!!. make sure you get your nice back pocket sized program when you get your wristband, then once you've got your tent up go to t'internet cafe and have one of their lovely coffees and cakes and plan your weekend.

Thank you pabro - sounds good to me - and do people on the camp sites talk to neighbours, share a drink with a nearby tent...or am I expecting too much friendlyness? and is it worth staying until the monday and going with the masses or packing up Sunday night.... and what happens on the thursday does it get manic at 10 in the morning when the gates open...Got my kag in a bag... got the sleeping bags saturday, a little light.. a box of wine and some plastic cups.. going to buy food on the site rather than taking a stove etc... whats best to do for a veggie like me?

Hi Liz, Oh definately stay till Monday, sometimes the best moments are the survivors bits at the end on the stages,we had THE best party when Bellowhead finished the festival one year, plus you can go back to your tent and sit with a glass of wine watch folk queuing for the bus to the car parks and coldhams common, , you don't have to rush to get going on the Monday, I think you have to be packed up by noon and you can usually still get a cuppa and something to eat. There is lots of food to choose from , really good Veggie food too , if it is the same people running the internet cafe , go there for breakfast , it's really good .There is Tescos about a mile away if you want to get your own food as it can be a bit pricey on site , as all festivals are.
Thursday is a bit of a scrum early, not too bad though ,I have always gone about one or two ish , you can still get a good pitch, It's nice under the trees , extra protection if it rains too . Yeah talk to your neighbours , I've met some really nice folk over the years , it's really chilled and very family friendly too. Word of advice too, the Ducks on the pond are partial to croissants :).

Pack your wellies, it can get a bit soggy if it rains alot, it won't this year of course :)
I can't wait , 5 days to go!!

I hope you enjoy it and it's first of many .
